Oh my goodness! That guy is hilarious! I was laughing so hard, my eyes watered. The reason is because everything he said is so true! We have become a society of instant gratification and we do take technology for granted. Maybe we do need to go back to the days of "walking around with a donkey with pots clanging on the side." It would make us realize that it wasn't that long ago this everything-right-now world did not exist.
That was phenomenal! I totally agree with each and everything that guy said. It makes me think of the TED talk we watched last week about "everything is amazing and no one is amazed." We tend to take so many things for granted these days; thanks for posting.
GREAT VIDEO!!! This is so true. The more people have the more they want and expect.
We realized this last year when my husband was laid off. We cut out cable, eating out, and entertainment. My kids thought they were going to die!!! My husband and I had been through hard times growing up so these cut backs didn't seem to bother us. In fact it seemed to make us grow closer together. My kids struggled at first but they soon realized that we can have fun doing stuff that is free. We started taking them to a conservation that had free activities on Saturday mornings, we planted a garden, we made a fire pit and roasted hot dogs and marshmellows, we played cards and board games. All the stuff we always seemed too busy to do before. Take away the TV and all of a sudden we could find all kinds of time. This helped show our kids that we don't need things to make up happy.
